Understanding EICR Report Codes: C1, C2, C3 & FI

Every observation on an EICR is given a code. Knowing what they mean makes the report far less intimidating.

C1 — Danger present. Immediate remedial action required; there is a risk of injury. C2 — Potentially dangerous. Urgent remedial action required. C3 — Improvement recommended. Not unsatisfactory on its own. FI — Further investigation. Something needs investigating without delay.

A report is normally marked unsatisfactory if it contains any C1, C2 or FI observations. We always explain your results in plain English and tell you exactly what to do next.
